A time of growth

Not only is your body miraculously growing a baby, but you are growing too. Don't forget to keep your own health in perspective, as when your precious baby arrives you will need nothing more than your physical and mental wellbeing to draw upon. The process of birthing your baby and the long hours of adjustment thereafter can be draining. Your wellbeing is a gift to you and your baby, and it greatly influences the delicate and often difficult transition into motherhood. Women need time to nurture the physical processes of healing, lactation, and tending to the baby. For this to happen it is important to consider physical wellbeing, diet and stress. The whole journey of pregnancy is one of 'giving' and that needs to include giving to your 'self ' too. So while you are focused on nourishing this little miracle of yours, remember that in nourishing yourself you are also caring for the baby in one of the most important ways.
